The list is open, and in any case you can access it from Wei's computer which is basically open to you. What you can piece together is this:This mailing list is composed of twelve individuals in academia around the world who enjoy puzzles, codes and mathematical ciphers. It is maintained in the open and its membership is open to anyone (though a moderator does ensure no spammers make it on the list). It is a small group and it sees only periodic activity, usually comprising a flurry of emails concerning some puzzle or equation. The latest email was from Michael Wei on October 12, 2010 at 6:41 A.M. No one has responded to this email yet.

The neighbours are fairly willing to give up information, and what you learn on top of what you have from his two closest friends is this:
Michael was an average person. He spent very little money on personal goods, ate mostly in the school cafeteria, and was in the lab working most of the time. His neighbors report nothing unusual, and all had a nodding acquaintance with him. He had three or four close friends, but spent most of his free time (which was very limited) with Anthony Desjardin and Molly Frank.

Well you can't delete the email from the group: it's obviously already sat in the members' inboxes.
The last email which Wei sent was emailed to the list October 12, 2010 at 6:41 A.M. The subject line reads "Re: Laqueus Solution", and to you guys, it effectively reads as numbers and gibberish: you are simply not good enough mathematicians to make sense of it.

'Christ, these peopple are all over, going to be hard to stop the spread if he's mailed them the equation. We're going to need backup to cover them all.'

It takes an inordinately long amount of time for the call to be put through. You suspect the call is being routed through a number of exchanges, most likely to obscure the location of the recipient, and hear white noise for a couple of seconds before a click, and then the phone starts to ring.
Eventually someone picks up the phone. The voice you can hear on the other end is quiet, elderly and male, and remains level throughout the conversation:
"Good thing you came to us with this. Now that we know about the list we can record the rest of the names.
The objective remains the same: remove anyone infected by the numbers. We can handle many of the people on the list: we won't have you criss-crossing the country. But a good start would be to take care of Tia Markell: I believe she is in New York City, and by your own account may have been exposed. That aside, keep an eye on the local and national news over the next few days and if anything else comes up, jump on it. Beyond that, destroy or contain any evidence of the numbers as far as you can, in order to prevent their spread. You may also want to check if the FBI or local police had a mathematics expert at the Ridgeway crime scene: that would be usual procedure in this type of case, and they may have been exposed.
As for the foreign nationals on the list? Not our problem.
A quick look at the local and national news turns up plenty of atrocities, but none seem connected as of yet. It still, however, seems like a good idea to keep an eye on the news over the coming days.

In the absence of any other response I will assume that Adam/Ash are going back to the scene to check on any maths expert assigned, and Bert and Will are going to fuck up a woman.
